A Nashville Studio for The Other Nashville
Slated to open in 2022, and located about two miles south of Nashville's legendary Berry Hill studio district, Feral Machine is a new mixing and electronic music production studio opening with a focus on industrial, punk, indie, experimental, alternative and electronic sounds from the music underground.

Owner/Engineer JJ Wright has been involved with audio recording and electronic music production for over 30 years. They cut their teeth in South Florida's underground scene of the 1990s, performing with the industrial rock outfit Acid Fist X. Recording later under the name Minor Procedure, they made some noise in the early internet scene on sites like mp3.com and IUMA, and were perhaps best known for an industrial remix they produced for the Revelation Records hardcore band Shai Hulud.
After moving back to their native Nashville and needing to pay the rent, they switched gears in the early 2000s to become a software engineer, the demands of which took them out of the scene for the next fifteen years. But they never lost sight of the goal, and in the late 2010s they started winding down the software career and winding back up to audio, studying modern production techniques and using that IT salary to build their new studio, which they now look forward to using to help a new generation of artists realize their own visions.
